Humble Beginnings

The seeds of Byars Thompson Buchanan were planted in 1972 by Joel Byars, III and Jo-Ann Byars who established a Farmers Insurance agency from the ground up. Serving Santa Maria consumers initially, the couple gained widespread trust throughout the Central Coast of California.

The firm has evolved into a full-service agency with policyholders throughout the State of California. Although the agency continues to grow, we feel strongly about our ties to the local community. We take pride in our "small town" service and our personal relationships with our clients.

Byars Thompson Buchanan has branch locations in Santa Maria, Lompoc and Paso Robles to serve the personal and business insurance needs of the California Central Coast.
